Recognizing Problem Gambling
If you’re concerned about your gambling habits, consider these questions:
- Do you prioritize gambling over spending time with loved ones or engaging in other meaningful activities?
- Have you considered lying, stealing, or selling possessions to fund your gambling?
- Do you skip work or school to gamble?
- Do you view gambling as an escape from boredom or dissatisfaction?
- Have you gambled away funds needed for essentials like food or transportation?
- Do you conceal the time or money you spend on gambling?
- Have others criticized your gambling habits?
- Would losing money through gambling lead to feelings of depression, with more gambling as the only relief?
- Do you feel compelled to immediately recover gambling losses?
- Do arguments, frustrations, or setbacks trigger an urge to gamble more?
- Does gambling contribute to feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts?
The more affirmative responses you have, the more likely it is that gambling may be a serious issue for you.

Identifying Problem Gambling
We have established policies to detect customers who may be experiencing or at risk of developing gambling issues. When identified, we may reach out to offer support or intervene. While we are not trained professionals in treating gambling problems, we may contact you and, at our discretion, suspend your account or restrict access to our products if we believe you need assistance. If contacted by our Social Responsibility team, please cooperate, as we prioritize your well-being.
Setting Deposit Limits
Our Deposit Limit feature allows you to control the net amount you deposit into your account over a 24-hour, 7-day, or 30-day period, accounting for both deposits and withdrawals. You can reduce your limit at any time, but increases require a 24-hour cooling-off period and additional confirmation. Our Customer Services team can provide further details but cannot override your set limits. Adjust your Deposit Limits in the Gambling Controls section under “Deposit Limits” when logged into your account.
Setting a Casino Loss Limit
You can set a maximum loss limit for casino games, choosing a time frame such as 24 hours, 1 week, or 1 month.
Key Details:
- Loss limits take effect immediately upon setting and reset at the chosen interval (e.g., a £100 weekly limit set on Monday at noon prevents losses exceeding £100 until the following Monday at noon).
- Limits reset without factoring in prior winnings or losses.
- Decreases to limits apply instantly, while increases require a 24-hour wait and reconfirmation.
- Changing a limit resets it, ignoring previous activity.
- Customer Services cannot override your set limits.
Set or modify your Casino Loss Limit in the “My Account” > “Gambling Controls” > “Casino Limits” section.
Take a Timeout
A timeout allows a temporary break from your account, ranging from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During this period, unsettled bets remain active, and your account balance is unaffected. Your account automatically reactivates after the timeout ends. To initiate a timeout, visit the “Gambling Controls” section and select the “Time Out” option.
Self-Exclusion
If a timeout isn’t sufficient, you may opt for self-exclusion, which can range from 6 months to 5 years. Request self-exclusion via Customer Services or the self-exclusion link (login required).
Process:
- Customer Services will confirm your request to ensure it’s authorized.
- Once active, you cannot access your account, and any funds will be returned per our Terms and Conditions.
- We strive to exclude you from marketing materials during this period, though you may still encounter general advertising.
- To reactivate your account post-exclusion, contact us via phone, Skype, or in person (email is not accepted).
- Only explicit self-exclusion requests result in account suspension for the agreed period; otherwise, accounts are marked as “closed” and can be reopened upon request.
Self-exclude here (login required).
Reality Check
We notify you after 60 minutes of gameplay, offering options to view your account history, stop playing, or access this Responsible Gambling page. You can set a shorter timer but cannot disable or extend it beyond 60 minutes. Adjust your Reality Check settings in the “Gambling Controls” > “Reality Check” section.
Blocking Gambling Payments with Your Bank
Many banks allow you to restrict gambling transactions. If you’re concerned about overspending, consider blocking gambling payments through your bank account or debit card. The Gambling Commission provides details on participating banks here, and GamCare offers additional guidance here.
Self-Assessment
If you’re unsure about your gambling habits, GamCare’s online self-assessment test evaluates your behavior through a series of statements rated on a 1–10 scale. Results provide a personalized breakdown of gambling’s impact on your life and recommend next steps. Access the test on GamCare’s website.
Limiting Gambling Ads on Social Media
To reduce exposure to gambling-related content on social media, consider these options:
- Facebook: You cannot block ads entirely, but you can hide them by selecting the down arrow or ‘x’ on sponsored posts. Adjust ad preferences in your settings to see more relevant ads. Learn more in Facebook’s Help Center or the Gambling Commission’s guidance.
- Twitter: The Gambling Commission’s guide, in collaboration with Twitter, helps limit gambling content by unfollowing accounts, muting keywords, or managing promoted tweets.
- Google: Block specific advertisers on Google Search, Maps, YouTube, or Gmail, or mute similar ads on other websites. See Google’s “Remove Unwanted Ads” page for details.
- Instagram: Hide unwanted ads or adjust preferences to influence ad content. Find guidance on Instagram’s Help Center.
